Sheet Metal Façade Designer

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to design façades and architectural drawing systems for commercial and residential projects. COMPETENCIES:
-
Knowledge of Laser scanning systems and software is an asset.
-
Proficient at AutoCAD.
-
A college or university degree in areas such as architecture, architectural technologies, civil engineering, or similar.
-
Any cladding and Aluminum Composite structure knowledge is an asset.
-
At least two years of experience as an architectural drafter/designer.
-
At least one year of experience in façade and cladding design.
-
Knowledge of building envelope and rain screen systems.
-
3D and BIM knowledge is an asset.
-
At least three years of experience with AutoCAD.
-
Knowledge of building code regarding cladding and enveloping.
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Experienced in estimation and take-off.
-
Exceptional communication skills, organization skills, and work ethic.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and design shop drawings, piece drawings, and work tickets for the fabrication shop.

Review architectural drawings and project specifications to determine project scope.

Determine the number of sheets and materials to be used in the project, as well as the waste percentage.

Prepare estimates of cladding requirements for new construction and retrofit projects.

Draft 2D and 3D basic building systems and mark-up drawings.

Communicate with clients regarding RFI’s and any addenda.

Communications with clients for approvals, including follow-ups after sending drawings.
