The Cup Store is a leading provider of custom printed cups and food packaging. We supply custom printed paper and plastic cups, coffee sleeves, napkins, coasters and other food packaging to a wide variety of customers for use in; restaurants, bars, cafes, corporate events and trade shows. We print corporate logos and marketing messages on our products for clients to use in marketing and brand reinforcement.
Role Summary
The Quality Control / Continuous Improvement (QC/CI) Associate supports day-to-day quality control activities and assists with continuous improvement initiatives across production operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the Production Manager, this role focuses on executing quality checks, collecting and analyzing data, supporting process improvements, and reinforcing training and standard work to improve consistency, reduce defects, and support operational efficiency.

Reporting Structure

- Works closely with: Production Manager, Production Supervisors, Operations Team
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control Support
- Perform routine in-process and final quality inspections using established checklists
- Record and report defects, scrap, and rework accurately
- Ensure production follows documented quality standards and SOPs
- Escalate quality issues promptly to supervisors or management
- Support corrective actions by gathering data and verifying follow-up actions
Continuous Improvement Support
- Assist with tracking production metrics such as scrap rate, defect rate, and rework
- Support improvement initiatives aimed at reducing waste and inefficiencies
- Participate in root cause analysis activities (e.g., 5 Whys) under guidance
- Help update and maintain SOPs, checklists, and standard work documentation
- Observe production processes and suggest practical improvement ideas
Training & Standardization
- Support onboarding and refresher training related to quality and standard work
- Help maintain training records and skill tracking documentation
- Identify gaps in process understanding that may impact quality or productivity
- Reinforce consistent application of procedures on the production floor
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with production staff to ensure quality expectations are understood
- Communicate inspection results clearly and professionally
- Participate in daily or weekly production and operations meetings as needed
- Maintain a positive, improvement-focused approach when addressing issues
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy and completion of quality inspections

Qualifications
Required
- Experience in quality control, inspections, or process improvement concepts
- Post-secondary education or coursework in Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- 1–3 years’ experience in a production, manufacturing, or operations environment
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Intermediate-advanced computer skills (Excel, Google Sheets, or similar)
- Comfortable working on a production floor
- Interest in continuous improvement or operations leadership
