We are seeking a seasoned business professional to lead Business Development growth activities for Aecon Golden Mile a joint venture busines. As a strategic lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of the business with a key focus on driving opportunities with new clients for third party traffic control This role is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, fostering and maintaining strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
What You'll Do Here :
Investigate and assist in development of new product or services.
Prepare and execute business development action plans for target markets/clients.
Analyze and filter the potential opportunities for the best fit with divisional goals.
Provide advice, liaison, planning, etc. to the prospective and current clients.
Establish and maintain effective contact with clients, including post award contact. Identify new work leads and manage lead follow-up
Collect the execution performance feedback from customers for continuous improvement initiatives.
Track and communicate what our top competitors are doing.
Marketing activities as needed to support strategic initiatives.
Responsible for or assists the Senior Superintendent in the overall planning and scheduling to ensure that the Project is constructed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Monitors the overall progress of the project and takes corrective action where necessary.
Coordinates and monitors the three main functions – Administration, Engineering and Construction.
Represents the Company with the owner.
Ensure that the owner is being advised of all extra work and claims and that subcontractors are being advised of backcharges.
Ensure that contracts are kept current and being updated with change orders on a regular basis.
Responsible for implementing and monitoring of the Company’s Safety and Environment Policies and QC Plans.
Ensures that all functions and operations on the job are following local legislative requirements.
Directs and maintains discipline and morale of the project staff.
Ensures that Company policies and project procedures are being adhered to.
Ensures compliance with union agreements, if applicable.
Reviews and provides approval of project cost reports and ensures projected job profits are accurate and current.
Assists in bid process.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Walking, lifting, equipment operation, etc.
Ability to carry drawings and diaries as required.
Ability to use stairs, ladders and climb over rough terrain.
Ability to work long hours per day in sometimes rough weather conditions.
What You Bring to the Team:
Managed and procured construction contracts
Direct experience closing construction service contracts
Proven track record managing sales cycles from lead, to proposal, to negotiation, to award
Fifteen or more years as a superintendent within the construction industry
Experience in selling, delivering, or procuring traffic control, surface restoration, hydrovac services, or other utility support services
Existing relationships with GCs, utilities, and municipal departments, particularly with estimators, project managers, procurement officers, construction managers, and/or municipal project leads
Strong network in Ontario construction sector is required
Reason for vacancy: Expanding the team
The expected pay range for this role is $52- $60 per hour. This is a 6 month contractual role with possibility of an extension.
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
