We invite applications for a full-time opportunity at St. Andrew's College in the role of CUSTODIAN on the Afternoon shift (3:30pm-midnight). At St. Andrew's College , we are proud to provide a clean, safe, and attractive environment for students, visitors, and staff. From time to time, the successful candidate might have shifts scheduled at our partner school, St. Anne's School.
Primary responsibilities of a Custodian include:
- Perform established cleaning functions within assigned areas
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms
- Move furniture, equipment, and supplies
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment
- Gather and empty waste and recycling containers
- Comply with Health and Safety under the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Comply with safe handling of cleaning chemicals (W.H.M.I.S)
We seek candidates with the following credentials:
- Previous experience working in a school or institutional setting is preferred
- Previous experience operating cleaning equipment and familiarity with cleaning tools and supplies
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and reliably complete tasks independently
- Position requires considerable walking and heavy lifting requiring knowledge of proper lifting techniques and safety precautions
- A current and clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
- Candidates must be able to work the occasional weekend and overtime as needed.
