This is a hybrid role where the chosen individual will both work in administrative tasks and will also issue and advise new transactions and amendments as per the necessity of the team. The role involves drafting, issuing, advising, and amending different types of SBLC/Guarantees and processing any other requests or correspondence regarding SBLC/Guarantees issued or advised. This position requires a minimum of 18 months commitment to the role.

- Review text of guarantees requested by clients and provide comments either directly to clients or relationship managers

Draft, issue, advise, and amend different types of SBLC/Guarantees and process any other requests or correspondence regarding SBLC/Guarantees issued or advised

Release transactions as per volumes and requirements of the team

Deliver timely and efficient services as per Service Level Agreements (SLA)

Prioritize, manage, and monitor day-to-day operations of the team and workflow and distribute daily requests among officers to ensure maximum efficiency

Participate in monthly reporting and reconciliation tasks

Ensure appropriate controls are in place to minimize risk
-
Provide technical advice to clients/partners
-
Ensure adherence to TD internal policies and regulatory guidelines

Demonstrate strong process management skills

Ensure consistency and accuracy of the process

Identify potential risks and operational gaps; recommend and document resolutions

Ensure due diligence is completed as part of all transactions, as per terms of the trade finance AML procedures

Execute on ad-hoc requests

Be available during some Canadian Statutory Holidays on a rotational basis in order to cover multiple province holidays, U.S. & U.K. business

- Trade Finance experience Standby Letters of Credit (SBLC) and Bank Guarantees
-
Strong knowledge of AML (Anti-Money Laundering) procedures and requirements
-
Excellent understanding of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) practices and rules applicable to the business (UCP 600, ISP 98, and URDG 758)

In-depth knowledge of Trade Finance, including operational context, business processes, and transaction lifecycle

Strong verbal and written communication skills essential for this role

Proven ability to deliver strong customer service and manage client relationships

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Proven team-oriented work ethic

- Knowledge of TF360
-
Good knowledge of AML procedures (additional depth beyond the required baseline)

Bilingual English and French (Montreal location is preferred; bilingualism is ideal)

Spanish language skills would be an asset

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office

- Post-secondary education required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, International Business, or a related field is an asset

CSDG (Certified Specialist in Documentary and Guarantee) certification top preferred credential
-
CSDC (Certified Trade Finance Professional) certification second preferred credential

CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) certification is also recognized

- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience within a Trade Finance Operations Guarantees team (at least 3 years required)

- Hybrid role: minimum 3 days per week in the office following successful completion of the initial training period, which will take place full time at the office (first 3 months, 5 days onsite)

Location preference: Montreal (bilingual candidates preferred); Toronto is also an option (second preference); Calgary and Vancouver are also a possibility
