Summer Student, Professional Practice & Patient Engagement
Temporary Full-Time
Join us as a Summer Student and help to Create Care Inspired by Community in East Toronto! As a Summer Student you will work with us on a variety of projects and other initiatives in collaboration with various departments and teams across the hospital and external partners.
This position is offered through the support of Government of Canada-Canada Summer Jobs Program. All applicants must meet the minimum requirements of that program.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support projects and initiatives throughout our Professional Practice areas including Speech Language Pathology, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Social work, this may including include daily operations, planning, logistics, and communications.
- Provide administrative support to the Patient Engagement program, including documentation, resource development, data entry, and event support.
- Support the documentation of best practices to ensure sustainability
- Provide operationalsupport to our staff, physician, and patient and quality improvement project work
- Assist with data modeling, analysis, evaluation and report writing
- - Other administrative duties as assigned
Education
- High school diploma, required.
- Enrollment in a Health-care related or relevant post-secondary program, required.
Experience
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Expectation of this role encompasses the need to maintain confidentiality with respect to all aspects of the work being performed
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, and prioritize workload
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated computer literacy with proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI etc.
- Experience with information gathering and the ability to synthesize and summarize information
- Ability to prepare written reports and documents that are clear and concise
- Comfortable working within a team as a leader and/or team member and with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
