Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 310T Technician/Apprentice to join our team at MacDonald Transport Service. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in truck and trailer maintenance, repair, and diagnostics within a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a passion for learning, and the ability to work safely with various tools and machinery. This position is paid and suitable for individuals looking to work with experienced professionals to grow their career in truck and trailer repair, at a 30+ year well established business.

Responsibilities

Assist with the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of trucks and trailers.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and general repairs of heavy trucks and trailers.
Use hand tools, power tools, and schematics to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
Operate heavy equipment safely during repair or testing procedures.
Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
Support senior technicians with assembly, disassembly, and installation tasks.
Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities.
Learn to interpret technical manuals and schematics for various machinery systems.

Requirements

310T licensed mechanic preferred.
Apprentices or non-licensed mechanics will also be considered.
E-Test certification is an asset. We will train if willing.
Experience with heavy trucks and trailers an asset.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, schematics, and heavy lifting techniques.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.
Excellent customer service skills are desirable for interacting with clients when necessary.
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Willingness to learn new skills through hands-on experience and training sessions.
Ability to work safely with heavy lifting and equipment in various environments.
