Position: Trauma Therapist (MSW or RP)
Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply:
- A Master of Social Work (MSW) or Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with a relevant master’s degree (no RPQ applications at this time, please).
- Completed specialized training in trauma therapy, demonstrated through formal coursework, certificate programs, or recognized modality training (e.g., EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Ego State Therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Attachment-Focused Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis, Polyvagal-informed therapy, or other evidence-based trauma treatment approaches).
- Professional Development Requirement: The successful candidate must be willing to complete EMDR Basic Training in August 2026. A portion of the training cost will be covered by FPT at the time of registration, with an additional percentage reimbursed upon successful completion of the program.

About Us
Full Potential Therapy is a growing mental health practice dedicated to helping clients strengthen relationships, process past trauma, and develop emotional regulation skills to reach their full potential.
The trauma our clinic focuses on includes the impacts of growing up with adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and relational or attachment trauma, such as inconsistent caregiving, neglect, or emotional unavailability. This may also include physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, medical trauma, and significant life transitions such as loss, grief, or fertility challenges.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide 50-minute psychotherapy sessions to individual adults, and/or couples through both online and in-person services at our Leslieville location (Carlaw & Dundas).
- In-person work: Willingness to work two in-person shifts (approximately 5 clients per shift).
- Maintain a minimum caseload of 15 clients per week.
- Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation using the Jane Practice Management System.

Trauma-Focused Clinical Support & Growth
- Receive advanced clinical guidance and supervision from our Clinical Director, a leader in the field of trauma therapy.
- The Clinical Director is an EMDR Consultant, certified in Clinical Hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and has completed Level I and Level II training in Ego State Therapy.
- They lecture regularly for the University of Toronto Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work Alumni Association and are a respected educator and mentor within the trauma therapy community.
- Clinicians have the opportunity to deepen and expand their trauma therapy skills across multiple modalities.
- For those interested, there is also the option to pursue full EMDR certification directly through the clinic, with ongoing consultation and support.

Your Qualifications:
Education
- MSW from an accredited university or equivalent graduate degree for Registered Psychotherapists.
- No RP(Q)s will be considered at this time.
Registration
- Registered and in good standing with OCSWSSW or CRPO.
Experience
- Minimum 2+ years providing psychotherapy in a clinical setting.
Specialized Trauma Training (Required)
- Formal training in one or more trauma-focused modalities, such as:
- EMDR
- Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
- Ego State Therapy
- Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP)
- Somatic Experiencing (SE)
- Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
- Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT)
- Attachment-Focused or Relational Trauma Therapy
- Clinical Hypnosis
- Polyvagal-informed approaches
- Or recognized trauma-treatment frameworks
Insurance
- Professional liability insurance.
In-Person Work
- Willingness to work two in-person shifts (6 hours per shift) at the Leslieville location, including at least one evening or weekend shift.
Term Commitment
- Commitment to a minimum 12-month term.
Additional Assets
- Experience providing online therapy with strong ethical awareness
- Alignment with values of trauma-informed care, anti-oppressive practice, empowerment, and authenticity
- Cultural competency, including experience working with LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC clients
- Comfort gradually building a caseload
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn Jane and comfort with Gmail/email communication
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
