Contract Position Overview
Looking to gain hands-on experience in the fast-moving logistics industry?
We’re seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Operations Assistant who thrives in a high-volume, multitasking environment and can pivot quickly as priorities shift. This is a great opportunity to build valuable industry experience while working in a fast-paced, high-energy setting where you’ll be managing multiple priorities at once and no two days are the same.
What You’ll Do
- Support high-volume daily brokerage operations including load entry and shipment coordination
- Track a large number of active shipments simultaneously and provide real-time updates to internal teams and clients
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers, customers, and warehouses
- Communicate frequently with carriers and customers to resolve issues and ensure on-time delivery
- Manage competing priorities, pivot quickly, and adapt to changing demands throughout the day
- Handle detailed data entry, ensuring accuracy across load information, updates, and documentation
- Process proof of deliveries (PODs), assist with invoicing, and support billing activities
- Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation within the TMS system
What You Bring
- Proven ability to multitask in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, pivot quickly, and stay on top of shifting demands
- High level of accuracy in data entry and documentation, even under pressure
- Excellent communication skills with confidence speaking to both customers and carriers regularly.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely perform the duties of a federally regulated commercial driver, including understanding safety instructions, company policies, dispatch communications, and required documentation.
- Ability to stay focused and efficient while handling tracking, data entry, PODs, invoicing, and communications simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar tools
- Experience with TMS software (e.g., TMW) is an asset
- Previous logistics, transportation, or administrative experience is a strong plus

- Compensation range: $50,000 - $55,000
- Compensation is determined based on skills, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
- This range is provided in line with pay transparency best practices and applicable provincial requirements.
- Wages, vacation pay, and public holiday entitlements meet or exceed Ontario ESA minimum standards.
