Are you looking for a hands-on role that keeps you active and engaged? Hopcott Farms is seeking a reliable and hardworking Part-Time Farm Hand & Delivery Driver to support our daily operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of driving, equipment operation, and pitching in wherever needed around the farm.
This is a part-time position. The successful candidate must be available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with flexibility to work alternating weekend shifts as needed.
The Farm Hand/Labourer’s Responsibilities Include:
Deliveries & Logistics
- Complete local deliveries using company vehicles in a safe and timely manner.
- Load and unload products for delivery, ensuring accuracy and care.
- Represent Hopcott Farms professionally while interacting with customers and partners.
Equipment Operation
- Operate forklifts and other farm equipment safely and efficiently (valid forklift certification required).
- Assist with moving materials, supplies, and products around the farm.
General Farm Support
- Assist with a wide variety of tasks across the farm, including maintenance, clean-up, and seasonal work.
- Support fencing, basic repairs, and general upkeep of farm facilities.
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, digging, shoveling, and loading/unloading supplies.
- Pitch in wherever needed to keep operations running smoothly.
Crop & Livestock Support (as needed)
- Assist with basic crop work such as planting, harvesting, and irrigation.
- Feed, water, and care for animals, with training provided for cattle handling.
- Observe animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns promptly.
Abattoir Support
- Work safely and comfortably in gritty or challenging conditions.
- Assist with composting waste, preparing materials for transport, and cleaning pens.
- Pump and prepare blood for transport.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow farm safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment for yourself and others.
Working Conditions & Physical Environment:
Environment & Physical Demands
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and gritty or dirty environments.
- Perform physically demanding tasks that require stamina, strength, and focus.
- Ability to lift and carry up a minimum of 50lbs safely and repeatedly.
- Stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
- Handle active livestock and operate machinery safely, following all safety procedures.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience & Knowledge (Asset, Not Required)
- Previous farming or agricultural experience, including experience working with cattle (feeding and general care).
- Experience operating and maintaining basic farm machinery and tools.
- Basic knowledge of animal care and crop cultivation is an asset.

- Passion for agriculture and outdoor, hands-on work.

Practical Requirements
- Valid BC driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.
- Valid forklift certification.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
