About Cornwall Gymnastics Club
Cornwall Gymnastics Club is a growing, community-focused gymnastics club offering recreational and competitive programming for athletes of all ages and abilities. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Women's Artistic Gymnastics Provincial Coach to help continue the growth and success of our competitive program.
The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a coach who is passionate about athlete development and enjoys working within a collaborative coaching environment. You will play an important role in guiding athletes through the Ontario Provincial Program while helping foster a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Working alongside our Head Coach and coaching team, you will help deliver high-quality training while supporting athletes in the gym, at competitions, and during training camps.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach athletes within the Ontario Provincial Program.
- Deliver safe and engaging training sessions.
- Support athlete development in a positive and inclusive environment.
- Attend competitions and training camps as required.
- Work collaboratively with the Head Coach and coaching team.
- Communicate professionally with athletes, families, and staff.
- Mentor junior coaches when appropriate.
- Represent Cornwall Gymnastics Club with professionalism.
Position Details
Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (based on the successful candidate)
Hours: Approximately 20–40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Additional hours may be available through competitions, camps, school breaks, and special events.
Compensation: $21.00–$28.00 per hour, based on qualifications, certifications, and experience.
Start Date: September 2026 (or as mutually agreed upon)
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess:
- NCCP Competition 1 certification (Competition 2 considered an asset)
- Previous coaching experience within the Ontario Provincial Program preferred.
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR certification
- Completion of all required GymCan and Gymnastics Ontario Safe Sport training
- Good standing with Gymnastics Ontario
- A positive, athlete-centred coaching philosophy that aligns with Cornwall Gymnastics Club's values.
Assets include:
- Competition 2 certification
- Post-secondary education in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Sport Management, or a related field
- Experience developing competitive athletes
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Physical Requirements
This position requires an active coaching role, including:
- Demonstrating and spotting gymnastics skills
- Standing and moving throughout the gym for extended periods
- Lifting and spotting athletes safely
- Working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Maintaining awareness of athlete safety at all times
