Experienced Arborist Climber – Full-Time Permanent
We are currently seeking an experienced Arborist Climber to join our team in a full-time, permanent position.
This role is suited to a skilled and experienced arborist with a strong background in climbing, rigging, tree removal, pruning, and working safely at height. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience across all aspects of modern arboriculture and be confident working independently as well as leading and supporting a professional crew.
Significant climbing experience is required. Only candidates with demonstrated arboricultural climbing experience will be considered.
Key Experience & Skills
The successful candidate will have proven experience with:
- Professional tree climbing and working-at-height systems, including advanced climbing techniques and equipment.
- Manual rigging systems for safely lowering, moving, and transporting tree sections and other loads.
- Tree falling and removal, including assessing trees, planning removals, and executing work safely and efficiently.
- Tree pruning, including knowledge of proper pruning techniques and tree health.
- Tree physiology and arboricultural practices, with a solid understanding of how trees grow, respond to pruning, and react to environmental conditions.
- Safely working around and operating in conjunction with elevated work platforms and cranes.
- Operating arboricultural equipment, including bucket trucks, chippers, stump grinders, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and various hand tools.
- Conducting and leading morning safety meetings and daily job planning, including identifying site hazards, assigning responsibilities, and establishing appropriate safe work practices.
- Maintaining a strong focus on job-site safety, hazard awareness, and professional work standards.
- Communicating effectively with crew members, supervisors, clients, and other contractors.
- Working effectively as part of a team while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.

Preferred Qualifications
- ISA Certification – an asset, but not required.
- First Aid Certification.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Demonstrated experience working as a professional Arborist Climber.
