Job Posting: Full-Time Early Childhood Educator (ECE)
Role Overview: The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) is responsible for providing high-quality, inclusive child care services for young children in a group childcare setting under the direction of Momentum Childcare Early Childhood Educators and Managers. This position is full-time, with a commitment of 30-40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and Implement Activities: Develop and assess developmentally appropriate activities. Establish a balanced daily schedule with varied activities. Organize and prepare space, equipment, and materials. Encourage self-expression and implement diverse teaching techniques. Foster an understanding of various cultures and value systems.
- Individualize Curriculum: Observe children's interactions and tailor activities accordingly. Identify times when specific children may need additional support. Collaborate on referrals for additional services when needed. Ensure individual plans are regularly reviewed and revised.
- Behavior Guidance: Set reasonable behavior expectations. Provide positive guidance and reinforcement. Address challenging behavior promptly and collaboratively. Work with the team to support inclusive practices. Follow licensing requirements and health procedures. Monitor and address potential hazards. Stay updated on children's health needs. Attend to physical needs promptly. Follow child protection procedures and report incidents. Discuss daily events with families. Accommodate parental instructions when possible. Encourage family participation in available opportunities. Follow licensing requirements and maintain punctuality. Fulfill Manager responsibilities when designated. Attend regular staff meetings. Maintain confidentiality and participate in annual reviews. Contribute to short and long-term planning and evaluations. Perform other duties as required.

Diplomas, certificates, or relevant training in child growth/development.
Early Childhood Educator Certificate in British Columbia.
Experience in childcare settings.
Strong organizational and customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Superior interpersonal skills, initiative, dedication, and commitment to quality programming.
Friendly, approachable, team player, reliable, and dependable.
Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
Initiative, flexibility, and quick decision-making skills.
Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Search.
