The Kimberley Elks Lodge #90 has been serving the Kimberley community for over 100
years, providing volunteer support and charitable donations to families, individuals
and organizations. We are proud to support the Kimberley Food Bank, Kimberley Food
Recovery, Kimberley Loan Cupboard, School Lunch Programs and many more.
Instrumental to our operations are the three key spaces in the Elks Lodge - the bar,
known as the Elks Social House, the Event Hall and the Retro Bowling Alley. Open to the
public, and available for private rentals, we’re looking for a Lounge Manager and Event
Manager to elevate our operations to the next level.
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Bar Manager to oversee the daily
operations of our bar and event spaces - our event hall and retro bowling alley. The
ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a passion for hospitality with strong
organizational skills. This role requires a balance of customer service, staff
management, and business operations.
Lounge Manager Key Responsibilities:
● Manage day-to-day bar operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
● Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise bar staff.
● Oversee inventory control, ordering, and stock management.
● Develop and maintain menus and offerings in line with current trends and
customer preferences.
● Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.
● Handle cash management, budgeting, and basic financial reporting related to
bar operations.
● Create a positive team culture, providing coaching and support to staff.
● Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
● Monitor performance and implement strategies to increase sales and
profitability.
● Coordinate with staff and members for special promotions or functions.
Event Manager Key Responsibilities
● Field enquiries and book private events.
● Proactively seek public event opportunities including comedy nights, bands and
private event opportunities such as staff parties and weddings.
Qualifications & Skills:
● Previous experience as a Bar Manager or similar leadership role in hospitality.
● Previous experience in Event Management.
● Excellent leadership and communication skills.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on approach.
● Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
● Basic financial acumen (inventory control, cost management, sales reporting).
● Knowledge of health & safety and liquor regulations.
● Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Required, can be completed on hiring:
● Serving It Right (SIR)
● BCLC training & certification
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
