Full job description

The Human Resources Manager provides strategic and operational leadership across all HR functions for the treatment centre. This role is responsible for recruitment, employee relations, policy development, performance management, training, workplace health and safety, and compliance with BC employment legislation and FNHA requirements. The HR Manager fosters a culturally safe, inclusive, and accountable workplace that supports staff wellness and organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment, Staffing & Onboarding:

Lead full-cycle recruitment including job postings, screening, interviewing, selection, and offer letters.
Coordinate new employee onboarding, orientation, and probationary reviews.
Develop and maintain job descriptions and organizational staffing plans.

Employee Relations, Policy & Compliance:

Serve as the primary HR advisor to leadership and staff on employee relations, performance concerns, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
Develop, implement, and review HR and workplace policies to ensure compliance with the BC Employment Standards Act, WorkSafeBC, and organizational policies.
Manage workplace health and safety programs, including incident reporting, return-to-work coordination, and WorkSafeBC claims.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, HR files, and personnel documentation.

Performance Management, Training & Culture:

Oversee the performance management cycle including probationary, annual, and developmental reviews.
Identify training and development needs; coordinate staff training aligned with accreditation, cultural safety, and operational priorities.
Support a workplace culture grounded in cultural safety, trauma-informed practice, and the values of 7NSETC.

Key Requirements:

We recognize the value of diverse educational experiences including cultural, academic, work, and lived experience.

Degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field; CPHR designation preferred or working toward it.
Minimum 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, including experience in a nonprofit, health, social services, or Indigenous organization.
Strong knowledge of BC employment legislation, workplace health and safety, and HR best practices; proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
Experience with full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, investigations, and performance management; experience with Indigenous organizations is a strong asset.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Valid BC Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

Pay: $77,468.00-$98,422.00 per year
