Scope: Open Competition

Classification: Administrative Support 2 (based on 40 hours per week)
Salary: $24.51 to $27.57 per hour

Wage Benefits:

In addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.6% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:

5.6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays.
6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay.

In addition to the regular wages and the additional pay in lieu of benefits and vacation, regular wage employees are entitled to shift premium pay:

$3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
$2.75 per hour for evenings

Hidden Valley Ski Resort is located in Cypress Hills Provincial Park, (also known as Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park). The Park spans the Southeast corner of Alberta and the Southwest corner of Saskatchewan. The unique landscape of the area contrasts the surrounding prairie landscapes, making it an exciting destination for winter recreation opportunities.

The Ski Resort is located on the Alberta side of the park, 10 minutes from the town site of Elkwater, AB and 40 minutes from Medicine Hat, AB. For more information about Hidden Valley Ski Resort, visit

Role Responsibilities

Ticket Sales and Administration staff play a key front-line role in delivering exceptional guest service at Hidden Valley Ski Resort. In this dynamic, multi-faceted position, staff are responsible for ticket sales operations, responding to guest inquiries, and coordinating Snow School lesson bookings. As a primary point of contact for guests at the hill, they create a welcoming environment and ensure each guest’s experience is enjoyable from arrival through departure.

Ticket Sales/Admin duties include, but are not limited to:

Assisting with guest inquiries, snow school bookings, ticket and season pass sales and cash handling.
General daily administration/reception duties for all departments.
Operating cash register and point-of-sales system.
Responding to and resolving customer complaints.
Assisting with other departmental duties as operationally required.

This position primarily works indoors, with some outdoor work required.

Qualifications

Required:

High School diploma.
Prior to hire, recognized current Intermediate Standard First Aid and CPR Level “C”/AED Certificates are needed, and must be maintained as current for the entire period of hire by the employee.

Equivalencies will be considered based on one year of experience for one year of education.

Additional Assets to be successful in the role:

Point-of sales and customer service experience.
Excellent customer service skills and computer literacy.
Knowledge of park facilities/services, especially Hidden Valley Ski Resort.

Working across departments may be required to fulfil operational needs.

Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.

Terms of employment:

Shifts are 8 hours a day, up to 40 hours a week.
Candidates must be willing to work weekends and holidays, varying start dates from December 2026, until March 2027, pending end of ski season and operational needs.
Multiple positions are available.
Various low-cost housing options are available for rent in Elkwater.
There is no public transportation to the Ski Resort, you must have reliable transportation to and from work. The Ski Resort is located about 10 minutes from Elkwater and about 40 minutes from Medicine Hat.

Any initial costs associated with obtaining required documents/checks as noted will be the responsibility of the candidate. However, some reimbursements may occur. Interview travel expenses will not be reimbursed. Out-of-province applicants can obtain the required documents/checks from the province they currently reside in.
