Based in Nova Scotia, we operate throughout Atlantic Canada (NS, NB, NL, PEI), with intermittent paid travel to project sites. Our experienced team stands out by offering a vast scope of industry knowledge, including electrical design, procurement, and project execution.
The Role
We are seeking a Journeyperson Electrician or 3rd/4th-year apprentice to install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems for renewable energy, EV infrastructure, and general electrical projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, attention to safety, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Work on solar PV systems, wind energy projects, battery storage, and EV charging stations.
- Install and wire generators, transfer switches, power distribution systems, and service panels.
- Perform high-voltage and low-voltage electrical work, including underground and overhead installations.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Ensure all work meets electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
- Use apps, tablets, and computer programs to fill out reports, submit photos, and track work progress.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults, system failures, and equipment malfunctions.
- Conduct testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting for new and existing installations.
- Comfortable working at heights and in various outdoor conditions.
Who We’re Looking For
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:
- Certified Journeyperson Electrician OR Registered 3rd/4th Year Apprentice
- Licensed to work in Nova Scotia (or eligible for certification)
- Canadian citizen or legally authorized to work in Canada
- Currently residing in Nova Scotia or planning to relocate in the near future
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and safety regulations
- Experience with commercial, industrial, and renewable energy electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and technical documents
- Ability to lift heavy objects, pull wire, and work with conduit
- Comfortable working at heights using lifts, ladders, and scaffolding
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Class 5 driver’s license (mandatory)
- Clean driver’s abstract (required for operating company vehicles)
- Willingness to undergo a criminal background check (for certain projects)
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
Nice-to-Have (but not required):
- Experience with solar PV, wind energy, or battery storage installations
- EV Charger installation experience (Level 2 & DC Fast Chargers)
- Background in 600V Electrical Service equipment
