Pipe Layer – Civil Construction

Harbour Construction is looking for experienced Pipe Layers to join our civil construction team.
This is not a seasonal stop-gap job. We're looking for people who take pride in their work, understand the importance of accuracy, and want to be part of a strong crew building essential infrastructure across Nova Scotia.
Our work includes underground utilities, watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, roadwork, excavation, and site development projects. Pipe Layers play a critical role in every project by ensuring underground infrastructure is installed safely, accurately, and to specification.
At Harbour Construction, you'll work alongside experienced Foremen, Operators, Labourers, Survey crews, and Project Teams on projects that help build and improve communities throughout the province.
What You'll Do
- Install storm, sanitary, and watermain infrastructure
- Set and check pipe elevations, grades, and alignment
- Prepare bedding and install pipe to specification
- Assist with tie-ins, connections, and transitions
- Read and interpret drawings, grades, and site layouts
- Work safely in and around trenches, excavation activities, and heavy equipment
- Collaborate with Operators, Labourers, Survey crews, and Foremen to keep projects moving efficiently
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity
What We're Looking For
Required
- Previous experience as a Pipe Layer in civil construction or underground utilities
- Experience installing storm sewer, sanitary sewer, watermain, or related infrastructure
- Ability to read grades, drawings, and site layouts
- Strong understanding of safe trenching and excavation practices
- Ability to work effectively as part of a crew
- Reliable transportation to project sites

- Trenching & Excavation Training
- Confined Space Training
- Experience working with lasers and grade controls
- Municipal infrastructure experience
