Scotia Plastics is currently hiring! Our vision is to have a presence in every fridge, cupboard, and recycle bin throughout North America. We specialize in the manufacturing and distribution of Scotsburn, Farmers, ADL, Central Dairies, and Big8 milk and water jugs for all of Eastern Canada.
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as an Extrusion Blow-Molding Operator. We operate 24/5 (Monday to Friday) with three shifts: Day (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM), Evening (4:00 PM to 12:00 AM), and Night (12:00 AM to 8:00 AM). Right now there is a need to fill a role on the Night Shift and potentially the Day Shift. Evening and night shifts get a $1.00/hr and $1.50/hr shift premium respectively. Per the union agreement, operators are able to select their preferred shift every 3 months.
About the role:
As an Operator, you'll be responsible for keeping your machines running safely and efficiently through your shift. This includes basic maintenance, troubleshooting, quality control, and hands-on production work. On evening and night shifts, there is no on-site management — the Operator acts as the shift lead, responsible for keeping the lines running and making sure the shift meets its production targets.
No formal mechanical training or prior experience is required — we're willing to train the right candidate from the ground up. A general mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn are an asset. Above all, we're looking for people who are reliable and accountable: the shift cannot run without an Operator present, so consistent attendance is the single most important quality for this role.
