The Cam Clark Auto Group is seeking a Body Shop Technician for our Cam Clark Ford dealership in Airdrie, AB.

With over 20 dealership and car service locations stretching across Alberta, British Columbia, Montana, and California, Cam Clark Auto Group is an industry leader in providing outstanding customer experience since 1987, while also striving to offer an amazing employee experience as well!

In the position of the Body Shop Technician reporting to the Body Shop Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of vehicles and for restoring damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance.

You will be accountable for:

Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed.
Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components.
Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers.
Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams.
Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place.
Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment.
File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools.
Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.
Mix paint, blend and match colors.
Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns.
Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs.
Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation.
Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling.
Install new and added-on equipment.
Conduct first, second and third line repairs, modifications on vehicles.
Monitor parts usage and report on any materials issues.
Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies.
Accurate completion of work orders and timecards.
Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation.
Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations.
Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Other mechanical repair work as required.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

Prior experience in auto body repair or a related field is considered a valuable asset.
Being a licensed technician is considered an asset.
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (driver abstract required).
Strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including walking, crouching, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

Work in a collision center with exposure to vehicles, chemicals, and various weather conditions.
Must follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
