Marketing and Events Coordinator

Overview:
Skills Canada New Brunswick (“SCNB”) was established in 1998 to develop programming that encourages and supports a coordinated Canadian approach to promoting skilled trades and technology to youth.
SCNB guides youth towards available opportunities in skilled trades and technology through events and programming. SCNB and its partners in business, industry, and labour force, secondary and post-secondary education, and government are helping to secure New Brunswick’s future skilled and technology-based workforce needs by:
· Providing unique programs to raise awareness of current and emerging skilled trades and technology careers,
· Bringing New Brunswick youth into the national competitive spotlight,
· Developing dynamic partnerships with agencies and organizations involved in promoting skilled trades and technology.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing and Events Coordinator (“MEC”) will promote the mission of SCNB by hosting and attending events and through strategic marketing. The MEC will oversee such programs and will ensure programs adhere to established schedules, specifications, and budgets. The MEC will monitor and measure the success of the marketing delivered.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
· Creates, schedules, and manages SCNB events, supports Program Coordinator in promoting and planning educational events.
- Provide event coordination and logistics support for events: including catering, room bookings, AV support, working with other departments to create guest lists, manage invitation communications, and promoting events.
· Promote events by creating marketing materials including posters, flyers, fact sheets, online fundraising platforms, and social media outreaches.
· Plan, coordinate, set-up, attend, and teardown events and produce live social media content.
· Attends trade shows and community fairs and staffs the company booth.
· Manages social media platforms to boost visibility of SCNB and to encourage the public to engage with the organization.
· Create and maintain social media calendar.
· Maintain records, schedules, and resources to ensure efficient operations in all areas of responsibility.
· Drafts and proposes communications campaigns, which may include social and online media, print media, direct mail, and other multimedia.
· Maintain relationships with venues, vendors, and partners.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:
· Post-secondary education in related field required.
· At least one year of related experience required.
· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
· Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Prolonged periods of time speaking with people at events and competitions and giving presentations.
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
