Videographer & Digital Content Creator
Location: Victoria, BC area (hybrid/field-based)
Engagement: Independent contract, with projects assigned as needed and the potential for full-time employment
Compensation: $35 - $55 per hour (TBD depending on experience)

We are looking for a hands-on Videographer and Digital Content Creator to help bring our products and brand to life through compelling, practical, and polished visual content.
About the Role
Working under the direction of our Marketing Team and collaborating with our marketing and product-development teams, you will plan, capture, edit, and deliver video and digital assets for product launches, demonstrations, social media, advertising, and educational campaigns.
This role is well suited to someone who combines strong visual storytelling with an understanding of digital marketing. You should be comfortable taking a project from initial concept through filming, editing, platform formatting, and final delivery.
Work will initially be assigned on a project-by-project basis, with the opportunity to transition into full-time employment for the right candidate.
Applicants must be based in or near Victoria and available to travel to Salt Spring Island and other Vancouver Island filming locations as required. Editing and post-production work may be completed remotely.
What You’ll Do
- Work with the Marketing Team to develop video concepts, scripts, shot lists, and production plans.
- Film and edit product demonstrations, how-to videos, promotional content, customer stories, and behind-the-scenes footage.
- Create short-form content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and paid social campaigns.
- Produce longer-form videos for YouTube, product education, and other marketing initiatives.
- Repurpose footage into multiple platform-specific formats and versions.
- Capture product photography and other branded visual assets when required.
- Add graphics, captions, music, voice-over, and other post-production elements.
- Create effective thumbnails and other supporting assets for video publication.
- Organize and maintain a searchable library of footage, project files, and completed digital assets.
- Coordinate filming and delivery schedules with the broader marketing content calendar.
- Monitor video and social-media performance and use the results to improve future content.
- Stay current with platform trends, content formats, and production techniques.
- Maintain consistent brand voice, visual standards, and production quality across all content.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience in videography, video editing, digital content creation, or a related field.
- A portfolio or demo reel showing relevant video and content work.
- Strong filming, editing, composition, lighting, and audio-production skills.
- Experience creating content for social-media platforms, particularly Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Proficiency with professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or comparable tools.
- An understanding of platform-specific video formats and content requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage footage, files, deadlines, and multiple projects.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating with a geographically distributed team.
- Availability to attend shoots in Victoria, Salt Spring Island, and other Vancouver Island locations.
- A practical and adaptable approach to filming products in workshops, outdoor environments, and real-world demonstrations.
- A marketing, communications, or brand-development background is preferred.
Equipment and Travel
The ideal candidate will have access to their own professional camera, lighting, and audio equipment. DonMark Products Group can provide or arrange production equipment where necessary.
Approved work-related travel expenses (including ferry fares, mileage, parking, and other reasonable expenses) will be reimbursed. Required project travel time will be compensated according to the terms established for each assignment.
Additional Assets
The following are considered assets but are not required:
- Product photography and basic graphic-design skills.
- Experience with motion graphics, animation, or visual effects.
- Experience using social-media analytics to evaluate and improve content performance.
- Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, YouTube Studio, Meta Business Suite, or similar tools.
- Experience producing paid-ad creative or conversion-focused content.
- Experience in the tools, DIY, outdoor, arboriculture, trades, or lifestyle industries.
- Drone videography experience and a valid Transport Canada drone pilot certificate.
