Overview:
This role focuses on operational excellence and team leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services to customers. The ideal candidate has strong agricultural knowledge, experience in operations management, and the ability to drive efficiency and growth through strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations including inventory management, logistics, and service delivery.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures and safety compliance.
- Monitor seasonal business cycles and adjust operations to meet customer needs.
Customer & Service Management
- Ensure exceptional customer experience by maintaining high service standards.
- Support agronomy team in providing technical advice and solutions to customers.
- Address and resolve any operational or service-related issues promptly.
Financial & Business Management
- Assist with annual budgets, financial reports, and forecasts.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as operational efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of agronomists, operations staff, and administrative personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations and create staff development plans.
- Foster a positive work environment that prioritizes safety, collaboration, and accountability.
Strategic Planning
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
- Stay informed on industry trends, technology, and regulatory changes impacting the business.
- Work closely with ownership to set long-term goals and implement strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Ag-Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Certified Crop Advisor designation is an asset.
- 5+ years in agricultural operations, agronomy services, or related leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of crop inputs, crop production practices, and supply chain management.
- Proven experience managing teams and operational budgets.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal business environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
