Full job description

Vista Geomatics Ltd is a mid-sized, multi-disciplined and well-established land survey company, based in Calgary, AB.

It is our aim to provide outstanding survey services to both Oil & Gas and Municipal / Construction customers with personalized, quality service performed safely, effectively, and efficiently. We take pride in our roots, our employees, and in top ratings for our extensive safety program.

We are currently seeking a Survey Party Chief to join our Oil & Gas division, working out of the Edmonton or Calgary area.

Requirements

Technical diploma in Geomatics Engineering Technology or have an equivalent amount of related Oil and Gas experience.
Proficient with field survey systems such as RTK-GPS and Total Station.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication, leadership, and motivational skills.
Proficient with field calculations & notes.
Valid class 5 drivers license with a clean driver abstract.
Be able to represent the company well with clients and the public.
Ability to work effectively in various geographical settings, weather conditions, and climates.
Satisfy pre-employment requirements, including drug screening.
Current safety certificates which include: Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, ATV Safety, WHMIS 2015 Bear Aware, Chainsaw Safety Training, and the Common Safety Orientation (CSO).
Willingness to work out of town.

Assets:

Experience managing own projects, communicating well with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Execution of survey field tasks assigned.
Understand related professional acts, standards, and regulations.
Maintain effective communication throughout each project.
Locate primary and secondary survey evidence and control.
Client communications and company representation in the field.

This position comes with the option of a guaranteed monthly minimum wage regardless of hours worked.
