WSP’s RPM team is one of the most established and exciting teams in Canada. The team consists of environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals. We have been providing contaminated site program management services to the worlds most technically focused companies for over 15 years. We consistently have backlog of 9 to 12 months and provide growth opportunities for our high performing team members. We specialize in health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment and remediation. Our team takes on the biggest Canadian projects from coast to coast to coast. The projects range in type, size and complexity, and the successful candidate will be able to utilize the team strengths to manage a large amount of field work efficiently and effectively.
Our dynamic team is growing, and we have a new opportunity for a senior environmental engineer or environmental scientist with 15+ years of experience to work in a multi-disciplinary team that solves complex issues for our clients throughout Northern Canada Territories. The position is one of three in the Remediation Program Management (RPM) team which has offices across Canada. This role will include providing technical support for a team of junior and intermediate project managers and technical staff and oversee client’s’ technical deliveries. Your Impact
- Review deliverables, including, but not limited to, Phase 1 and Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments; Detailed Site Investigations; regulatory forms and submission documents; and other technical reporting such as background determinations, water use determinations, and screening level risk assessments.
- Provide mentorship to Junior and Intermediate project managers, report authors and field staff.
- Support Project Managers with technical presentations and communications with clients and regulators, as required.
- Support leadership with client management and steward client objectives with the team.
- Support leadership with Requests for Proposals, as required.
- Complete Site visits to support our junior staff in the field.
- Be a strong health and safety advocate and lead by example in the field and office.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, geoscience, or other relevant discipline.
- 15+ years of experience providing Technical Direction of contaminated sites.
- Eligible or immediately eligible to register as a Professional in Northwest Territories.
- Strong and thorough understanding of the Contaminated Sites and interest in permafrost.
- A pleasant and approachable demeanor with WSP colleagues and clients.
- Strong mentoring abilities and a drive to help our junior and intermediate colleagues reach their potential.
- A commitment to helping foster an inclusive team dynamic.
- Good communication skills (listening, speaking, and writing).
- Good problem-solving skills with the initiative and ability to identify alternative solutions.
- Advanced skills (Microsoft application Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and PowerBI and Oracle).

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $136,000 – $188,000
MB & ON: $128,000 – $176,000
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $120,000 – $176,000
