TDE is searching for a Shop Labourer perform a variety of general duties in both shop and yard fabrication environments.

Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to:

Following instructions exactly as given.
Handle materials and assist shop employees with general tasks as required.
Perform housekeeping duties.
Operate basic hand and power tools safely.
Report any issues and/or concerns to the Direct Supervisor.

Qualifications

At least 1 year of experience in a fabrication environment.
Structural steel processor/craftsman/labourer experience.
Bandsaw and overhead crane experience, is an asset
Good measurement skills and knowledge with both metric and imperial standard units required.
Training and experience with a hydraulic ironworker machine, oxy-acetylene/plasma hand torch and other steel fabrication tools considered to be assets.
High School Diploma.
Any Certifications such as Forklift and Safety/First Aid would be an asset.
Working knowledge and background in a fabrication, manufacturing, and construction is essential.
Proficient knowledge of industry best practices.
Self-motivated and able to work in a high pressure and deadline driven environment.
Ability to prioritize activities, adapt, and stay focused in a dynamic changing environment.
Own vehicle and a clean driver's abstract are a must.
Good computer skills are an asset.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact positively with all levels of staff.
