Job Description:

As a Applications Engineer, you will work closely with our clients remotely and on their sites to support the SiteSense® suite of products on web and mobile applications. For a construction project, Application Engineers work in collaboration with our client’s senior engineering team to resolve issues in a timely fashion and maintain maximum customer satisfaction second to none. The Application Engineer creates project plans and executes accordingly, including tasks such as hardware assembly, configuration, database automation, installation, commissioning, testing, training, and ongoing system monitoring and support. Once a SiteSense® solution has been commissioned and deployed to a project site, various support tasks can include on-going user training, support documentation, developing custom reports/dashboards, and identifying, analyzing, and repairing product issues and testing solutions. Intelliwave Application Engineers will also aid in product innovation by configuring and testing new emerging technologies and developing interfaces and applications for new hardware.

Intelliwave Application Engineers work closely with our clients and users to discover use cases and recommend new products and services that will help improve their daily operations and help meet their project goals. They are experts in a variety of construction and industrial operations concepts, practices, and processes where they rely on their experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity, leadership, and being an ultimate team player is expected.

You will:

Represent Intelliwave in a positive, passionate, and professional manner
Work with all personnel and outside contacts to satisfy clients to achieve company goals
Identify areas of improvement in the company and assist in creating and implementing solutions
Have a thorough working knowledge of Intelliwave’s software applications and hardware solutions

Provide timely, accurate and unambiguous updates to the software development and issue tracking system called JIRA
Be responsible for Windows, Linux, iOS and Android device testing
Perform custom hardware assembly and installations on client sites.
Require infrequent backline support while performing remedial activities on-site.
Recognize situations requiring escalation and provide the support required to resolve the events to satisfaction of the client
Travel to and from client sites providing support as required by Intelliwave (Canada, USA, Australia, etc.)
Arrive to work, project sites, and meetings on time and prepared
Provide training for Intelliwave’s SiteSense® software and applications
Receive ongoing technical training to enhance individual technical competency
Train other engineers and co-workers
Work with Intelliwave leadership on creating project plans and executing on project plans
Help the Intelliwave R&D team to create and enhance products
Work with the Applications Engineering team and enhance the team synergy

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
Proficiency in at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as JavaScript, C++ or C# (JavaScript is preferred)
Experience with the Node.js run-time environment is a plus
Experience with relational database management systems such as MySQL is a plus
Experience with Android or iOS mobile application development is a plus
Experience with Web development is a plus
Team player as well as a self-starter who needs little supervision and processes
Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, client-facing and problem solving skills
Passionate about Quality Assurance and keeping current with industry trends and best practices
Experience in the construction sector is a plus
Willingness to travel for short and long term placements at client sites on an as needed basis. Most commonly client site trips will be 1-2 weeks long at a time.
