Days, evenings, weekends, and holidays during the season from approx. October to April.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Pro Patrol Manager leads safety and emergency-response operations across Rabbit Hill Snow Resort, supervising the Pro Patrol team and the Canadian Ski Patrol and fostering a proactive safety culture. Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, the ideal candidate is calm and decisive in emergencies, a strong rider, and brings Rabbit Hill’s values — Accountability, Innovation, Adaptability, Passion, and Community — into everyday decisions and team culture.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience & Education
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Minimum 2 years’ professional ski patrol experience; with supervisory experience preferred.

- Proven leadership, coaching, and team-motivation skills.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive in emergency situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate or higher ski or snowboard ability.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
- Strong commitment to safety and proactive risk management.
- Physically capable of the demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs alone and 125 lbs with assistance.
Certifications & Licences
- Advanced First Aid or EMR (required); valid CPR Level C and AED.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable personal transportation (required). Our location is not served by public transit and taxi service can be unreliable.
- Snowmobile operation experience an asset.
JOB DUTIES
Leadership & Administration
- Model and promote Rabbit Hill’s core values — Accountability, Innovation, Adaptability, Passion, and Community — through daily actions, team leadership, and guest interactions.
- Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, coach, evaluate, and — when necessary — discipline or terminate patrol staff in accordance with Rabbit Hill policies.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safety-focused team culture.
- Prepare and manage the annual department budget; track expenses, analyze variances, and submit accurate monthly reports.
- Maintain accurate incident, hazard, equipment, and training records, and submit all required documentation accurately and on time.
- Build positive working relationships across all departments and participate in manager meetings.
- Be willing to cover additional shifts as needed, including on short notice, and support other departments as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Patrol & Emergency Operations
- Supervise, schedule, and support the Pro Patrol team and CSP; run daily briefings on conditions, hazards, and protocols.
- Enforce the Alpine Responsibility Code and Rabbit Hill safety policies.
- Inspect trails, terrain features, and signage; manage trail openings and closures.
- Respond to emergencies; coordinate emergency response plans, including lift-evacuation protocols and resort-wide drills.
- Ensure emergency equipment (AEDs, first-aid kits) is stocked, functional, and documented.
- Act as liaison with external emergency services (EMS, Fire, EPS).
- Review and approve accident and incident reports; ensure post-incident wellness checks.
- Complete snowmobile training; operate radios and snowmobiles per protocol.
- Assist with on-hill operations: guest support, towing, and trail maintenance.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to and enforce Rabbit Hill policies, procedures, and all applicable safety regulations.
- Ensure patrol staff are trained and current on relevant safety, first-aid, and PPE protocols.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Outdoor-focused; frequent exposure to cold, wind, snow, and varying terrain.
- High guest interaction, including stressful or emergency situations.
- Extended skiing or snowboarding, patrolling, and manual labour over uneven ground.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs alone and 125 lbs with assistance.
