Scott Builders Inc. is seeking a highly focused, organized, and motivated Project Manager to lead commercial and light industrial construction projects from start-up through closeout. This role is ideal for an experienced construction project management professional who can manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, client communication, and trade coordination while supporting successful project delivery.
The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with proven experience building relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.

Job Summary
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for all aspects of the construction process on assigned projects. Working closely with the Site Superintendent and project team, you will help develop and review project scope, budgets, plans, and schedules to ensure each project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
You will also help ensure projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, building codes, and Scott Builders’ high standards for quality construction. This role requires a strong commitment to health and safety, client satisfaction, project controls, and collaborative team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned commercial and light industrial construction projects from start-up through closeout, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and project performance.
- Work closely with Site Superintendents, project teams, clients, consultants, trades, and vendors to support efficient and timely project delivery.
- Develop, review, and maintain project plans, budgets, schedules, documentation, and construction processes.
- Ensure work is completed according to approved drawings, specifications, building codes, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks or constructability concerns, and work with stakeholders to determine practical solutions.
- Lead and motivate project teams through collaboration, communication, conflict resolution, and hands-on project management support.
- Build and maintain strong client, trade, employee, and stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support and promote safe work practices in high-pressure construction environments while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of project management experience in commercial or industrial construction.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, drawings, blueprints, specifications, schedules, budgets, and project management methodology.
- Proven ability to manage the design and construction process from project start-up through project closeout for mid-size to large projects with varying complexity.
- Demonstrated experience leading and motivating project teams with a hands-on approach from start-up through completion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals and stakeholders.
- Ability to guide safe work practices while maintaining project quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify root causes, resolve constructability issues, and determine viable solutions.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Procore, and applicable project management software.
- Valid provincial driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Gold Seal Certification is preferred.
- PMP certification is considered an asset.
- Direct project experience in power generation, low-rise mixed-use, recreational, assisted-living, commercial, or light industrial construction is preferred.
- Candidates who submit project lists and client references supporting relevant project experience will be given preference.
Work Environment and Schedule
This position works in a commercial construction environment and requires coordination between office-based project management responsibilities and active construction site activity. The Project Manager may be required to attend site meetings, visit project locations, coordinate with field teams, and work in changing site or weather conditions.
Flexibility is required to work periods of overtime and travel to project sites on occasion to meet project schedules, client needs, and operational requirements.
