COMMUNITY RESOURCE WORKER - OVERNIGHT for SOLO

About the position:
McMan’s Disabilities Services Program in Edson is seeking to recruit a dedicated Overnight Sleep Worker to assist one (1) female individual with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders and complex behaviours to enrich her quality of life in her home and community.
Please note that due to the individuals' needs, the successful candidate must be female.
Hours: Sunday to Thursday-10pm to 10am. Total of 20 awake hours and 40 asleep hours.
Location: Edson, Alberta.
What you’ll do:
· Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with disabilities
· Act as a strong advocate for individuals in the community
· Work effectively as a team with the individuals and their support team to help achieve their goals
· Case management; including support plan development and implementation
· Complete daily documentation
· Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities and medical appointments
· Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home
· Participate in on-going program development
What you bring:
· Completion of a High School Diploma.
· Six (6) months experience working within the Human Services field (relevant equivalencies will be considered).
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Security Clearance Check; including the Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months).
· Current Emergency First Aid-Level A CPR + AED.
· 3-year Valid Class 5 drivers license, current drivers abstract, reliable vehicle and $2 Million liability auto insurance are required.
· Proficiency in basic computer and word processing tasks
· Compassion and the ability to assist with personal care.
· Ability to implement approved restrictive practices and establish boundaries while maintaining positive supports.
· Desire to see individuals succeed.
