Revenue Clerk (up to 12 month Contract)

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury offers a return to small town charm while being one of the country’s fastest growing communities. We are looking for a highly motivated professional to contribute to the Finance Department.

Reporting to the Manager of Revenue Services, this position will be responsible for ownership changes and account maintenance for both property tax roll numbers and utility water & wastewater accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains and updates property tax and utility customer records in the Town’s utility and property tax billing software by updating ownership changes received from law firms.
Reviews MPAC’s Sale Listing provided bi-weekly to identify and make appropriate changes pertaining to ownership changes, name changes or address changes that were not directly sent to the Town.
Assists the finance customer service staff with mail and responding to customer queries by phone, email or in person as required.
Maintaining and updating customer records in the Town’s property tax and utility billing software by updating address changes; enrolling customers on e-billing; and any other items pertaining to customer information.
Maintains tenant water & wastewater utility accounts at the request of landlords and ensuring the tenant and landlords are both receiving their bills to the proper mailing address.
Inputs all Power of Attorney (POA) and Articles of Incorporation to appropriate property tax and/or utility accounts by uploading documents and adding notes to the system.

Key Competencies and Qualifications

Degree or diploma in accounting or business administration.
Two years experience in a customer service, law clerk, administrative or related experience with preference given to those who have Municipal Tax experience.
Completion or working forwards completion of the Municipal Tax and Administration Program (MTAP) would be an asset.
Working knowledge of current of the Municipal Act and Municipal Freedom of Information and Privacy Act.
Candidates must be able to promote a culture of inclusiveness and work with a diverse population of employees, participants, agencies and the public.
Must have strong attention to detail and be highly organized
Proven analytical, detail oriented, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with information technology including Microsoft Office Suite and financial applications.
Required to complete a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check upon hire.

The position offers a salary range of $31.68 to $38.51 (2026 rates) based on a 35 hour workweek plus an option for flexible work arrangements.
