Our client is a well-established Canadian manufacturer with over 50 years of success, producing durable, high-performance off-highway equipment used in demanding, real-world applications across a global customer base.
Who this role is for:
This opportunity is well suited to a hands-on Design Engineer or Technologist who values seeing their work move beyond CAD and into real-world equipment.
Our client is seeking someone who has operated in practical, manufacturing-driven environments where designs are owned end to end from initial concept through prototyping, shop support, and into production.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working closely with manufacturing and the shop floor, solving real-world engineering challenges, and balancing design intent with manufacturability and build requirements.
This is not a siloed design role. It is best suited to someone who wants to be actively involved, take ownership of their work, and contribute to equipment built for demanding applications, with the opportunity to grow into greater design ownership over time.
What you will be doing:
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks 3D CAD
- Take ownership of projects from concept through prototyping and into production implementation
- Perform engineering calculations and support design validation, including FEA and testing
- Support component selection and application engineering, including exposure to hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) within an ERP system (Epicor)
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing and the shop floor to provide technical guidance, support builds, and improve processes
- Assist with aftermarket and service-related technical support
- Contribute to engineering change processes (ECOs) and maintain clear project documentation
- Support development of technical publications and documentation
- Work within established safety standards and contribute to a safe, organized work environment
What we’re looking for:
- Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Mechatronics Engineering degree or diploma OR equivalent hands-on experience (typically 4 to 8 years)
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, including assemblies, drawings, and revisions
- Experience designing mechanical systems in fabrication-based or equipment-focused environments
- Exposure to BOM management and ERP systems (Epicor is an asset)
- Strong problem-solving ability with a practical, build-focused mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Effective communication skills and ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability
Nice to have:
- Experience working with off-highway, mobile equipment, or heavy machinery
- Exposure to hydraulics and integrated mechanical systems
- Experience with FEA and product testing
- Technical writing or documentation experience
- Familiarity working directly with manufacturing or shop floor teams
What’s in it for you:
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision coverage
- Long-term stability with a well-established manufacturer
- Opportunity to work on real-world equipment and see your designs come to life
- Career growth within a supportive, team-oriented environment with increasing ownership over time
If you're a hands-on design-focused engineer or technologist who enjoys seeing projects through, from concept to production, this is a strong opportunity to build your career in a stable and growing organization.
Thank you for your interest and time. While all applications are reviewed, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
All applications are handled confidentially.
