Job Overview

Our client, located in Leamington, Ontario is a busy retail food and catering business committed to providing high-quality products and exceptional customer service. We are seeking a reliable and energetic Kitchen Helper / Customer Service Associate to support our kitchen operations and assist customers at our retail counter. This position combines food preparation and kitchen support duties with front-line customer service responsibilities. The successful candidate will help maintain a clean and efficient kitchen while providing friendly and professional service to customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, some experience in serving or food handling, and a strong work ethic. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in a fast-paced retail environment while contributing to a positive experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly to ensure timely service
Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks and food handling
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and retail area in accordance with food safety standards
Serve customers efficiently and courteously at the counter
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process customer transactions.
Package and prepare customer orders for pickup.
Handle food safely, including proper storage, sanitation, and hygiene practices
Restock supplies and ensure all necessary ingredients and utensils are available for service
Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure a safe environment for staff and guests.

Skills

Experience in serving or food service roles preferred, especially in a food industry settings
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly
Strong understanding of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good communication skills and teamwork-oriented attitude
Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices
Flexibility to adapt to various tasks within the restaurant setting

This role is vital in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and delivering a positive experience for our customers. We welcome motivated individuals eager to grow their skills within the food industry.
