Senior Solution Architect - Enterprise Asset Management / IBM Maximo

Buchanan Technologies is searching for a Senior Solution Architect for a contract opportunity with our Employer of Choice client.
The Senior Solution Architect will support an Enterprise Asset Management, EAM, program focused on IBM Maximo implementation and other asset-based, business-critical technology solutions. This role will be dedicated to the EAM program and will oversee solution design, technology development efforts, standards, policy development, and overall architectural alignment.
The successful candidate will partner with business stakeholders, technology leadership, enterprise architecture teams, and project delivery teams to determine appropriate technologies and drive the implementation of secure, scalable, and robust end-to-end solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice based on in-depth architectural analysis of the technical environment, enterprise-wide needs, and business requirements.
- Provide strategic consulting support and lead the development of solution architectures that support key business objectives.
- Lead the preparation of technical plans and work with IT application teams to ensure appropriate technical resources are available.
- Provide expert guidance on technical aspects of solution development and integration, including change requests, deviations from specifications, and alignment with client needs.
- Ensure relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices, including security, are applied correctly.
- Plan, create, and design solution drawings, technical specifications, IT solution workflows, and network architecture diagrams.
- Develop working functional prototypes and visual communications for client groups and internal stakeholders.
- Update platform architecture requirements based on changing technologies, solutions, and vendor products.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to review objectives and constraints of platform technology solutions.
- Ensure technology solutions conform with enterprise and business architecture requirements.
- Recommend suitable solutions and facilitate small to large group meetings for technical architecture review, decision-making, and problem-solving.
- Act as a key liaison with stakeholders to select and implement the appropriate tools and technologies.
- Advocate for improved end-to-end IT solutions across the organization.
- Provide specialized guidance and advice to IT enterprise applications delivery teams.
- Provide input into strategic planning and assess short- to medium-term technology solution approaches.
- Develop recommendations for future phases to support more complex long-term technology transitions.
- Monitor the external technology environment, including emerging technology, public sector trends, and market trends.
- Assess and document technology impacts, threats, and opportunities.
- Create reports, technology roadmaps, and recommendations based on organizational relevance, timing, and deployment considerations.
Qualifications
- Relevant post-secondary education in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of related and progressive experience, preferably in solution architecture, solution design, technical design, engineering, software architecture design, database design, and Enterprise Asset Management, EAM, platforms.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with IBM Maximo Asset Management.
- Experience with IBM Maximo asset lifecycle functions, including inventory, contracts, purchasing, resources, work management, preventive maintenance, and security.
- Proven ability to design integration approaches and solutions that achieve robust, secure interoperability.
- Experience implementing solutions on large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of data, security, resilient systems design, integration, and application development.
- Solid experience with architectural and asset management technologies and frameworks.
Mandatory Certifications
Candidates must have proof of the following certifications available for submission:
- IBM Certified Maximo Solution Architect
- IBM Certified Maximo Advanced Deployment Professional - Asset Management
Nice-to-Have Certifications
- Zachman Certification
- TOGAF Certification or equivalent Enterprise Architecture Certification
Nice-to-Have Skills and Knowledge
- Public Sector Enterprise Asset Management methodologies and frameworks.
- Agile Project/Program Management experience.
Additional Requirements
- Must be available to work onsite in Brampton a minimum of 2 days per week.
- Must be available for the full duration of the assignment.
- Must be able to attend onsite for onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Travel between various client locations may be required.
- Candidates should be prepared to provide specific examples demonstrating their experience with IBM Maximo, Enterprise Asset Management, integration architecture, secure interoperability, and large-scale solution implementation.
Pay: $95.00-$109.00 per hour
