Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, ensure food safety standards are met, and support the kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals. This role is essential in maintaining efficient kitchen operations and providing excellent food service to our guests.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to recipes and specifications
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients
- Support cooking processes by following established procedures and safety guidelines
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety standards and sanitation regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep station and kitchen areas
- Assist with meal preparation during busy service times to ensure timely delivery of dishes
- Help with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of supplies needed
- Support the serving staff by preparing items for plating or presentation as needed
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within a restaurant or food service environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices
- Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
- Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
