Full job description

Shipping and Receiving Data Entry Clerk

The Shipping and Receiving Data Entry Clerk is responsible for processing shipping and receiving documentation, entering inventory and shipment data into our computer systems, and ensuring accurate tracking of goods moving in and out of a warehouse or distribution facility.

Key Responsibilities

Enter shipping, receiving, and inventory information into company databases or warehouse management systems.
Prepare and process shipping documents such as invoices, packing slips, labels, and bills of lading.
Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock levels.
Coordinate with warehouse staff, drivers, vendors, and carriers regarding shipments and deliveries.
Track shipment status and resolve discrepancies or damaged goods reports.
File and organize shipping and receiving paperwork.
Generate reports related to inventory, orders, and shipment activity.
Follow company safety procedures and shipping regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or data entry experience preferred.
Strong computer and typing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry software.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math and inventory counting skills.
Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or software such as Famous, SAP or Oracle.
Forklift certification (in some workplaces).
Knowledge of shipping carriers and logistics procedures.

Full-time
Day, evening, or rotating shifts depending on company operations
Occasional overtime during busy shipping periods
