ICD is currently seeking Deckhands and Labourers to support an oilsands reclamation project for a a 3-to-4-month fixed term contract. The schedule for this position is a 14x14 rotation, working twelve 12-hour shifts for the duration of the project.
Successful deckhand candidates are required to have general knowledge of boat operation and comfortable working on/near water. Candidates MUST BE LOCAL to Fort McMurray.

Responsibilities:
- Successfully tie knots to secure boats to other vessels or dock facility
- Perform housekeeping duties on vessels, barges, and around the worksite
- Safely operate company vehicles and perform tasks that may involve physical labour such as assisting in loading and unloading company vehicles
- Cleaning and maintaining onboard area and equipment as necessary
- Complete all necessary daily paperwork. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, pre-trip and inspection logs, deliver receipts, vehicle inspection, permits, hours of service, etc.
- Assist other personnel across various job sites and other duties as requested
All employees must participate in, promote, and contribute to ICD’s Safety-First culture. This includes, but is not limited to, following Safe Work practices and procedures, attending safety meetings and toolbox talks, understanding and navigating our digital safety application (SiteDocs), completing FLRA’s, using PPE, inspection of vehicles, tools, and equipment, and more.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of Labour experience in the oil sands
- Capable of lifting 23 kilograms (50lbs) repeatedly
- Deckhands must have general knowledge of boat operation and be comfortable working on/near water
- SDV-BS (MedA3) and Pleasure Craft License (PCL) are assets as a deckhand

Successful candidates must provide have following items prior to confirmation of their start date:
- Comprehensive alcohol and drug test clearance letter
- Copy of valid class 5 driver’s license
- Copy of clean 3-year driver’s abstract
- Copies of training certificates related to site-based work
