Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Meat Cutter/Butcher and bring your passion for high-quality food preparation to a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. In this role, you will expertly handle meat products, ensuring they meet safety standards and quality expectations while providing exceptional service to our customers. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in the food industry and be part of a team dedicated to excellence.

Responsibilities

Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to established standards and customer preferences
Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines throughout all stages of meat handling and processing
Package meat products efficiently while ensuring proper labeling for freshness and safety
Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations, including regular sanitation of tools and equipment
Follow all food industry protocols for safe handling, storage, and transportation of meat products

Requirements

Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in butchery or food preparation, is highly preferred
Knowledge of meat cutting techniques (seam butchering preffered), food handling procedures, and food safety standards
Ability to operate knives, deboning saws, band saws, and other butchery tools safely and efficiently
Strong attention to detail to ensure precise cuts and proper packaging
Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication abilities
Sausage making experience or familiarity with food processing is a plus
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads (up to 50 lb) safely, and work in a fast-paced setting
Self-employed mentality
Valid Class 5 drivers license
