Job Overview
We are currently seeking experienced and safety-driven Red Seal Industrial Pipefitters to join our team supporting operations, maintenance, brownfield construction, and turnaround execution at a major SAGD facility in Northern Alberta. This role is suited for motivated industrial tradespeople who thrive in fast-paced operating facilities and take pride in safe, high-quality execution.
Successful candidates will possess strong experience working within oil sands, SAGD, petrochemical, refinery, or heavy industrial environments and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, craftsmanship, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities

Install, maintain, repair, and modify carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy, and HDPE piping systems.

Perform pipe fabrication, fit-up, bolt-up, flange management, hydrotest preparation, and pressure testing support.

Install and maintain valves, supports, steam systems, utility piping, process piping, and associated mechanical equipment.

Read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, spool drawings, work packages, specifications, and general arrangement drawings.

Perform field verification, tie-in preparation, measurements, and system walkdowns.

Work safely in live operating SAGD process units under strict permit-controlled environments.

Coordinate effectively with welding, scaffolding, insulation, electrical, instrumentation, operations, and crane crews.

Support outage and turnaround activities within highly congested multi-discipline workfronts.

Participate in FLHAs, toolbox talks, safety interventions, and Stop Work Authority initiatives.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality control, and workfront readiness.
Requirements

Valid Alberta or Interprovincial (Red Seal) Journeyman Pipefitter Certificate.

Minimum 3–5 years industrial experience in SAGD, oil sands, refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.

SAGD operating facility maintenance experience.

Brownfield construction and live plant tie-in experience.

Turnaround and outage execution experience.

Steam tracing and high-pressure steam system experience.

Hydrotesting and pressure testing support.

Rigging and critical lift awareness.

Experience working around high-energy piping and pressure equipment.

Safety-focused with a strong industrial work ethic.

Mechanically inclined with excellent troubleshooting abilities.

Able to maintain productivity while following procedures and quality requirements.

Strong communicator who works well within multi-discipline teams.

Adaptable to changing priorities and fast-paced turnaround environments.

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Ability to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing including cannabis and site access requirements.
