The Job:
This is a permanent position where the Buyer will be working in a safety-sensitive environment and is expected to work 12 hour shifts on a rotation of 14 days on, followed by 14 days off, starting at 6:45, alternating sets between days and nights.
If not local to Fort McMurray, accommodations are provided in a shared setting. It is the Buyer's responsibility to get to and from Fort McMurray. Shared transportation to and from site will be provided.
In addition to the base salary, Buyers in the Oil Sands can look forward to:
+ 6.5% of gross earnings for hours worked
+ Commuter Supports ($1,000/month) for eligible individuals commuting to the region

An excellent Buyer will manage the day to day parts requirements pertaining to heavy equipment serving internal clients as a product expert. We are seeking strong self-starters who are responsible for warehousing activities such as shipping, receiving, planning and managing the flow of goods. Our Buyer will be motivated, committed and wants to grow with us.
As a Buyer YOU will:
- Procure and expedite parts in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner
- Adhere to financial controls
- Manage warranty material and core returns
- Stock shelves and track stock outages
- Assist with inventory counts
- Receive and verify materials and process discrepancies in a timely manner
- Complete necessary documentation for shipments, following TDG and WHMIS regulations
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
- Complete Job Hazard Assessments

What We Need From You:
- Journeyman Parts Technician Certificate would be considered an asset
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with Heavy Equipment Maintenance or related industry with mechanical aptitude (preferred)
- Prior parts sourcing or purchasing of materials and service is an asset
- Experience with dozers, haul trucks and excavators of all major brands such as CAT, John Deere, Hitachi and Komatsu a definite asset
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices with an excellent safety attitude
- Experience with expediting and logistics
- Experience receiving parts
- Basic understanding of contracts
- Intermediate computers skills, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of equipment components and parts
- Customer service focus and ability to build relationships
- Safety oriented personality
- Strong ethics and compliance to rules and regulations is a must
- Strong numbers oriented and attention to detail that is able to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Team player who shows initiative and is a continual learner
- Must be self-driven and results oriented
- Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum Class 5 Driver's license and clean driver's abstract
