ABOUT US:
QCL is a luxury fishing resort set in a protected harbor at the northern end of Haida Gwaii. We pride ourselves in the comfort, friendliness, and platinum standard services we provide, and are interested in crew that share this paradigm. Our summer season begins late May, running until mid-September.
All crew are provided with pre/post season return travel from Vancouver to Haida Gwaii, meals, a staff lounge and gym facility, shared accommodations, quality uniforms and the opportunity to fish throughout the season.
LANDSCAPER/LABOURER
Whether assisting on the dock or on land, Landscaper/Labourers are well rounded and thrive in a non-stop action environment. Each day presents differently, requiring much adaptability – with pre-season prep, on season maintenance and ending with post-season rig down.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Relocating to QCL (Spring-Fall) position based in Haida Gwaii
- Previous experience landscaping considered an asset
- Previous experience in construction considered an asset
- Ability to carry moderate-heavy loads, bend/kneel easily, and withstand being on your feet for the entirety of each shift
- Solid interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively in a diverse and dynamic setting
- Desire to learn and provide a first-class guest experience
- Passion for the West Coast and interest in the adventures that come along with working/living in a remote lodge environment
- Advanced First Aid (Formerly OFA-3) is considered an asset
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel and squat to perform duties throughout the entirety of each shift
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Perform general labor tasks including landscape maintenance and construction duties to support lodge operations
- Ensure the safety of the work environment by adhering to safety protocols and utilizing First Aid skills when necessary
- Assist in the upkeep of outdoor areas, including gardening and maintenance of pathways
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
