Salary:
$52.30 - 56.75 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits on regular earnings, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay, paid out with each pay day. Optional enrolment in the College Pension Plan is available, with employer-matched contributions.
The period between Christmas and New Year's Day is unpaid time off.
Northern Lights College is seeking an individual who is eager to share their knowledge and industry experience with Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Foundation students.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering instruction for the Heavy Mechanical Trades Foundation program. Instruction follows the SkilledTradesBC curriculum guidelines for Heavy Mechanical trades in British Columbia and prepares students for the Interprovincial Red Seal examinations upon completion of training.
This position is intended to support the delivery of an additional Heavy Mechanical Trades program cohort.
Required:

Certificate of Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Mechanic

A minimum of 10 year's experience in the trade

Class 5 Driver's license

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Commitment to student motivation and success

Ability to function effectively as a team member through collaborative approaches to course instruction
Preferred:

Teaching experience working with the learning outcomes of the Skilled Trades BC program outline

Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) certification or an equivalent credential in adult education (or a willingness to obtain)
