We are currently seeking a Full-Time Yard Technician to join our team in Fort St John. Applicant must be local to Fort St John.
Position Summary
The Yard Technician plays a vital role in supporting our Water Treatment & Optimization operations. Working closely with Field Operators, Supervisors, and Management, you will be responsible for preparing equipment, handling chemicals safely, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring equipment is ready for deployment to field operations.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of work, takes pride in staying organized, and wants to build a career in the oilfield while working locally and being home most nights.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, organize, and maintain field equipment, trailers, and support vehicles.
- Prepare equipment and chemical systems for field deployment.
- Assist with receiving, storing, labeling, and handling oilfield chemicals in accordance with company procedures and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Complete chemical transfers and deliveries using proper handling procedures.
- Operate forklifts, skid steers, telehandlers, loaders, and other yard equipment (training provided where applicable).
- Drive company pickup trucks, trailers, and commercial vehicles to transport equipment and supplies to field locations throughout the Peace Region.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
- Assist Field Operators with mobilization and demobilization of equipment.
- Maintain inventory levels and assist with stock organization.
- Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, inspections, and minor repairs on equipment.
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and operating safely.
- Complete shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation.
- Follow and actively participate in Stimulate Energy Services' Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Program.
- Report hazards, incidents, accidents, and near misses promptly.
- Provide general labor and operational support as required.
Qualifications & Certifications
Required:
- H2S Alive
- Standard First Aid
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Experience handling industrial chemicals
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel).
Assets:
- Forklift certification
- Skid Steer or Loader experience
- Air Brakes (Q Endorsement)
- Class 3 or Class 1 Driver's Licence
- Previous oilfield, warehouse, or yard experience
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Primarily based out of the Fort St John yard with regular travel throughout the Peace Region.
- Home most evenings with occasional overnight travel based on operational requirements.
- Frequent driving throughout Northern British Columbia and Alberta.
- Regular operation of trucks, trailers, forklifts, loaders, and other mobile equipment.
- Exposure to industrial chemicals while following established safe work procedures.
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions year-round.
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive physical tasks.
- Use of hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment.
