Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Maintenance Worker to join our team and help maintain the beauty and functionality of our outdoor spaces. This role involves performing a variety of landscaping, gardening, and maintenance tasks to ensure the grounds are well-kept, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor work, possess basic mechanical knowledge, and be comfortable operating various tools and equipment. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in landscape maintenance, and bulk plant / cardlock-related activities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy machinery such as Loader, skidsteer, forklift and lawn cutting equipment for landscaping and facility maintenance.
Manually manage systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns
Perform gardening tasks including planting, mowing, and fertilizing
Conduct landscape maintenance to preserve the appearance of grounds
Use hand tools and power tools for maintenance of our facilities, and repair work as required, including painting, snow clearing and facility inspections.
Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure safety and efficiency
Assist with construction, maintenance or installation projects related to facility spaces
Monitor grounds for safety hazards and report / address issues promptly
Support seasonal clean-up activities and prepare grounds for special events or inspections
Managing warehouse organization and cleanliness receiving inventory and preparing orders.

Experience

Prior experience with landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is preferred
Mechanical knowledge related to operating and maintaining equipment such as excavators and irrigation systems is a plus
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic construction and maintenance techniques is advantageous
Ability to perform physical labour outdoors in various weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about outdoor work, with a focus on maintaining beautiful curb appeal through skilled use of tools, machinery, and maintenance expertise.

Pay: $24.00-$33.00 per hour
