Who We Are
At Eigen Innovations, we combine thermal imaging and AI to detect the issues traditional machine vision misses. Threshold-based inspection breaks the moment a product or process varies — our AI learns from that variation, catching hidden defects like voids, weak welds, and material inconsistencies as they form on the production line, and spotting anomalies before they become retrospective investigations.
Our OneView platform gives manufacturers an end-to-end workflow to design, deploy, and manage AI vision applications at scale — from cloud-based image ingestion, anomaly detection, and model training to real-time edge inspection wired directly into factory PLCs. Industry leaders across automotive, metals, plastics, paper and packaging, and building materials rely on us to cut scrap, reduce downtime, and ship better products.
Seeing beyond defects isn't just our tagline — it's the problem you'll be solving every day.
The Role
We're looking for an intermediate-to-senior Software Developer who's comfortable moving across the stack: shipping polished Vue.js frontends one week, architecting, building, or tuning an image processing pipeline the next, and deploying it all to AWS with all of the -ilities accounted for.
You'll sit at the intersection of web development, computer vision, and industrial IoT — building software that runs both in real factories and the cloud, informing decisions on real production lines. If you want your code to have a physical, measurable impact on how things get made, this is that job.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and ship features across our platform — Vue.js/JavaScript on the frontend, Django/Python on the backend, PostgreSQL underneath
- Craft intuitive UI/UX that turns complex thermal and process data into insights factory teams can act on in seconds
- Bring imaging data to life with visualizations and rapid, iterative prototypes
- Integrate machine learning models into production inspection systems
- Architect and maintain data pipelines that move images and process data reliably from factory edge devices to the cloud
- Develop, document, and test APIs and new systems connecting our cloud platform, edge devices, and customer systems
- Own CI/CD and build pipelines; containerize services with Docker and run them on AWS (ECS, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, load balancers, VPC networking)
- Collaborate closely with our ML, hardware, and customer-facing teams to take features from whiteboard to factory informed response
What You Bring
Core stack
- Strong JavaScript and Vue.js
- Solid Python with Django
- PostgreSQL
- API development and testing
Data & vision
- NumPy and pandas
- OpenCV and image processing fundamentals
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines
- Hands-on experience working with machine learning models
Product & design
- Genuine UI and UX sensibility — you care how it feels, not just that it works
- Three.js (or comparable 3D/WebGL experience)
- A bias toward prototyping: build it, test it, learn, iterate
Infrastructure
- Docker
- CI/CD and build pipelines
- AWS services (ECS, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, SNS, SES, Lambda, load balancers, networking, etc.)
Experience: [3–5+] years in software development, with the judgment to make pragmatic architecture decisions and the communication skills to explain them.
Nice to Have
- C++ and CMake
- Data analytics experience
Why Eigen
- Real-world impact — your code inspects real products on real production lines for global manufacturers
- Rare variety — full-stack web, computer vision, ML, 3D visualization, and cloud infrastructure in one role
- Small team, big problems — your decisions shape the product, not just a ticket queue
Pay: $75,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Dental care
- Flexible schedule
- On-site parking
- RRSP match
- Vision care
- Work from home
