What an Accountant will do here…

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting operations. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of accounting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Prepare and review bank and credit card reconciliations
Maintain accurate financial records and proper documentation
Process payroll for employees using ADP, ensuring compliance with regulations
Administer employee benefits, including health insurance
Monitor cash flow and prepare internal financial reports (including AR/AP tracking)
Prepare and submit government filings and reports (e.g., GST/HST)
Coordinate and prepare documentation for funding programs
Track and report on grant/project expenditures to ensure compliance
Manage company insurance policies, ensuring proper coverage and compliance
Support budgeting and forecasting activities
Utilize accounting software (e.g., Sage 50) to maintain accurate financial records
Perform other accounting-related duties as required
Criminal background check required

What will make you a perfect candidate…

Education and/or experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage 50)
Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Legal experience is an asset
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
