Communications & Engagement Coordinator
Location: Fredericton, NB (hybrid, work from home but some office time)
Type: Full-time contract for 1 year with possibility of extension
About the Role
We’re looking for someone who can help our team stay connected, organized, and visible. You’ll be the person who keeps communications flowing internally, represents us well externally, and makes sure quality information reaches the right people, in the right language.
You’ll work across multiple products and brands under one roof, which means more exposure, more ownership, and more chances to apply what works in one place to another. One day you might be taking notes in a working session and turning them into a clean summary; the next you’re at a booth talking to people at a conference; the day after that you’re translating content, posting on social, or helping shape how we explain what we do. You won’t be doing it alone. You’ll be well supported by domain experts on the team who can answer your questions and help you go deeper as you learn.
We’re open to new grads and early-career candidates. If you’re bilingual, organized, curious, and someone people genuinely like working with, we want to hear from you.
Duties
- Represent the team at booth events and conferences, engaging with attendees in both English and French.
- Deliver clear, engaging in-person communication and short presentations to clients, partners, and event audiences.
- Handle written communications: emails, summaries, briefs, and document preparation, along with editing and proofreading.
- Create original content across formats including blog posts, case studies, newsletters, one-pagers, and social copy that communicates what we do and why it matters.
- Take strong notes during meetings and working sessions, and turn them into organized, shareable outputs.
- Translate content between English and French (and vice versa) to keep our communications consistent across both languages.
- Maintain the social media presence of our brands across multiple platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, and others) with real content calendars.
- Help shape and execute our digital marketing strategies, with support from the broader team.
- Keep things organized: schedules, follow-ups, contact lists, event logistics, and the small details that make a team run well.
Required
- Bilingual in English and French, with strong written and spoken skills in both languages. You’ll use both daily, including in client conversations, writing, and at events.
- Good vibes. You’re someone people want to work with, talk to, and stand next to at a booth for eight hours.
- Willing and able to travel for booth events and conferences.
- Strong note-taking and organizational skills. You can sit in a meeting, capture what matters, and turn it into something useful.
- Clear, confident verbal communication. You’re comfortable speaking to clients, partners, and the public.
- Curious by default. You ask questions, look things up, and don’t need to know everything to get started.
- Self-directed. You can take a vague goal and turn it into a plan (with help!).
- Comfortable juggling multiple brands or products without losing the thread.
Preferred
- 0 to 5 years of relevant work experience. New grads are welcome to apply.
- A background in business, communications, media arts, or a related field.
- Comfort with social media management and a basic understanding of social analytics.
- Interest in AI tools and new technology, and the curiosity to keep learning what they can do.
- An eye for design and basic graphics skills (Canva, Figma, or similar).
- Experience or interest in research and policy work.
- Hands-on experience with digital ads (Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads), or willingness to learn.
- Ties to local community, or genuine interest in local engagement.
- No forestry background required. We’ll teach you what you need to know!
