Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Home Child Care Provider to provide quality care for children in a private household. The successful candidate will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports the children's physical, emotional, and social development.

Responsibilities

As our Home Child Care Provider, you will:

Provide attentive daily care and supervision for children.
Create a safe, healthy, and stimulating home environment.
Plan and organize age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks.
Change diapers and assist with toilet training as required.
Support children's personal hygiene and daily routines.
Encourage positive social, emotional, and behavioural development.
Perform light housekeeping related to the children's care, including tidying play areas, laundry, and meal clean-up.
Monitor children's well-being and communicate any concerns with parents.
Follow parents' instructions regarding routines, discipline, and childcare practices.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

Secondary (high school) diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of childcare experience in a home, daycare, or similar setting.
Valid First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain before starting).
Strong understanding of child safety and development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, compassion, and the ability to build trusting relationships with children.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Reliable, honest, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

Experience caring for children with autism or other developmental or learning disabilities.
Experience working with children of different ages.
Knowledge of inclusive childcare practices.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
