Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Scheduler to coordinate manufacturing schedules and ensure efficient production workflows. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to process improvement and lean manufacturing practices within a dynamic food manufacturing environment. The Production Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimizing production schedules for a protein manufacturing facility. This role ensures that customer demand is met efficiently while maintaining optimal inventory levels, maximizing plant capacity, and meeting food safety and quality requirements. The Production Planner acts as a critical link between sales, procurement, operations, and quality teams.

Duties

Develop daily and weekly production schedules based on forecasts, customer orders, and inventory targets.
Adjust plans in real-time to accommodate demand changes, equipment downtime, or raw material constraints.
Sequence production to optimize efficiency, minimize changeovers, and reduce waste
Ensure availability of raw materials and packaging materials.
Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimal stock for perishable and shelf-life-sensitive materials.
Collaborate with procurement to manage supplier lead times and shortages.
Analyze plant capacity and labor availability.
Coordinate with Sales, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
Track KPIs such as schedule adherence and inventory turns.
Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

5-7 years working in a food manufacturing environment.
Proven experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP or similar platforms, in a manufacturing setting.
Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, assembly lines, and process improvement methodologies such as lean manufacturing.
Familiarity with supply chain management, MRP systems, and inventory control.
Knowledge of quality control standards and practices within a manufacturing environment.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
Diploma in Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred but not mandatory. This position is integral to maintaining efficient production operations while supporting ongoing process improvements that enhance overall product quality and delivery performance.

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
