Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our busy restaurant team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. Prior restaurant or food industry experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable kitchen experience and develop skills in food handling and safety.

Duties

Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use
Assist with basic meal preparation and food handling tasks as needed
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas
Organize and store clean dishes and kitchen supplies efficiently
Support food service staff with serving meals and setting up dining areas during busy hours
Follow all food safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations
Help with inventory management by notifying supervisors of supplies that need replenishing
Assist in cleaning kitchen appliances and ensuring proper disposal of waste

Skills

Basic understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
Experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
Knowledge of cooking, meal preparation, and food industry practices is a plus
Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and organization
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting
